U9 Vipers
In their last Hicks League game of the season, Rotherfield faced Burghfield who were the only team to have beaten them thoughout the campaign. The first-half was a tense affair with no clear chances for either side; Burghfield did break through the United defense a couple of times but Owen Lowe was solid in goal and never seriously troubled.
After the half-time team-talk, Rotherfield tightened things up and began to push forward more themselves. Burghfield however were well organised and chances were few and far between. Ten minutes in, Adam Fearnside did break into the Burghfield penalty area only to be felled by an errant Burghfield tackle; the referee elected to play the advantage as the ball fell awkwardly to Liam Ruiz but soon the chance fizzled away and United were left feeling a little aggrieved.
At the final whistle it was still 0-0, both sides having contested an even but exciting game. All the players were presented with medals for working hard through an enjoyable first season.

In their first evening match of the season, Rotherfield were on top form against local rivals The Hare and Hounds. Despite hitting the bar on numerous occasions, United ran out easy winners (although one or two players may be on the treatment table this morning).
