Rotherfield faced a tough match last Saturday in freezing conditions against a strong Burghfield team, with Rotherfield winning 5 out of 5 Burghfield went out determined not to be beaten. Rotherfield had to be at their best and with some solid defending from Kalhan Shah and Jack Williams, Burghfield only managed to break through and put themselves 1-0 up at half time.
The second half was a midfield battle but with some good tackling and determination from Liam Ruiz, Burghfield found themselves defending a run from Nick Swan who was denied an equalizer. With not long left to go, Burghfield broke through the Rotherfield defence making the score 2-0.
Rotherfield battled well throughout the game which turned out to be the toughest so far. The fair-play award was given to Liam Ruiz for his 100% performance.
