Rotherfield United 5 Caversham Trents Whites 0
October 7th 2006

Caversham made a promising start to the game but luck wasn't on their side when, after five minutes, a United cross was deflected into the net by one of their own defenders, giving Rotherfield the lead.

Once in front, United began to look more menacing; Adam Fearnside added a second a few minutes later and then hit the woodwork twice in the following minutes. Morgan Green then delivered the perfect near-post corner which Fearnside turned in to make it 3-0.

Jack Williams and Kalhan Shah were comfortable at the back for United snuffing out any Trents attacks, allowing United to reach half-time without 'keeper Isaac Hylton really having been troubled.

Straight after the break, Owen Lowe grabbed his seventh of the season when he intercepted a short goalkeeper's clearance and then made no mistake with a clinical finish into the bottom left corner. Mid-way through the half, Green was unlucky not to cap a fine performance with a goal of his own when, for the second week in a row, a long-range free-kick flew just inches over the opposition's crossbar.

Five minutes from the end, United added a fifth when Fearnside completed his hat-trick after a run down the left wing and an emphatic finish.

The fairplay award was given to Morgan Green for a commanding midfield performance.
