Rotherfield United 3 Woodley Wanderers A 1
April 15th

In their first Summer League game of the season, Rotherfield got off to a great start with Nick Swan opening the scoring inside the first minute after a flowing move straight from the kick-off. Two minutes later, Swan was on hand again inside the Wanderers penalty area to fire home his second with a great shot. United were putting some good passes together and could have grabbed a third when a Harry Sayer cross was fired against the bar from close range by Adam Fearnside, but the rebound was gathered safely by the Woodley 'keeper. Wanderers fought back though and were able to grab a goal just before half-time with a good counter-attacking move, putting them right back in the game.

With just a goal separating the sides, the second-half turned into a tense affair; United twice came close to extending their lead when efforts from Owen Lowe just missed the far-post, but it wasn't until the last couple of minutes that things were made safe when Adam Fearnside finally grabbed their third goal with a shot from a narrow angle.

There were good performances throughout the Rotherfield side, but the fair-play award was given to Nick Swan for an influencial midfield display.
