Rotherfield United 1 Burghfield 3
March 10th 2007

Rotherfield had the better of the opening ten minutes with Jack Stevens coming close to opening the scoring, but it was Burghfield who took eventually took the lead midway through the half with a well taken breakaway goal.

United didn't have to wait long for their equaliser; Stevens played the ball wide from the kick-off to Adam Fearnside who ran to the touchline and delivered a cross which was met in the box by Stevens and then forced in from close range by front-man Nick Swan. Moments later, Morgan Green almost added a second when he broke through the Burghfield defense but his shot was well-saved by the 'keeper low to his left. Burghfield came even closer to edging in front with a fine shot at the other end but goalie Isaac Hylton made a finger-tip save and defender Kalhan Shah was on hand to clear the ball off the line.

After half-time, Green was again unlucky with a shot which this time struck the base of the post; Despite Rotherfield's pressure it was Burghfield who took the lead when a long-distance lob bounced over the 'keeper and into the roof of the net. United attacker Owen Lowe was denied an equaliser minutes later when a good shot was again well-saved, but as Rotherfield pushed on in search of a goal, Burghfield struck again to make it 3-1.

In the final few minutes, a number of shots from Fearnside and Ruiz went just wide of either post but at the final whistle it remained 3-1.

The fairplay award was given to Jack Williams for another promising defensive display.
