Rotherfield continued their impressive winning streak with a convincing nine goal win over Kennet Valley. An added bonus was Rotherfield’s fifth consecutive clean sheet.
Rotherfield started the game in impressive form passing the ball well and creating chance after chance with only the outstanding Kennet Valley keeper keeping the scores level.
Eventually the relentless pressure told and a ferocious shot from a tight angle by Martinez gave UTD a deserved lead. Shortly after the restart the lead was doubled as Newbold converted a flowing move down the right in fine style.
The second half continued in a similar pattern to the first with Rotherfield having all the possession and maintaining their siege on the Kennet Valley goal. Martinez and Newbold helped themselves to another goal each before Newbold completed his hat trick with an exquisite chip from just inside the oppositions half.
Kemp rejoined the action after having a brief spell as sub and immediately helped himself to a brace of goals the second being the pick with a fierce right foot shot giving the keeper no chance.
With the game entering its dying moments there was still time for more goals. The first from Beville who latched on to an Attree cross and then the goal of the game from Martinez who planted an unstoppable free kick into the roof of the net.
Particularly pleasing was the performance of the two debutants Ben Smith and Owen Attree who both put in excellent mature performances and fitted in seamlessly into the well-oiled Rotherfield machine.
