Early pressure from Englefield was punctuated by Rotherfield breaking forward, but the Raptors scored first – a long ball out of defence from Simian Tsang found Brett Barton on the right, whose pinpoint cross was converted by John Middleton shooting on the turn. Strong defending from Adam Conway and Duncan Toms maintained the lead to half time.
Raptors scored again quickly in the second half from two quality crosses – one from John Middleton converted by Jack Drinkwater’s boot, and another from Sam Foad finished by a Harry Gannon header. Englefield got one back, then Tom Bean bundled the ball out of the goalie’s hands for the Raptors’ fourth. William Adams made the reflex save of the season to stop Englefield scoring a second, and Jack Drinkwater dribbled through defence and round the ‘keeper for the fifth.
